Fantastic Art Deco uranium glass and brass / gold tone metal chunky beaded necklace. The large, bright yellow beads are uranium glass so glow in an unexpected neon yellow, showing the beautiful marbling effect under UV / black light.
The yellow beads are very like Louis Rousselet beads (made in France), but the rest of the necklace does not have Rousselet features that I recognise. The spring ring clasp is an old example that works perfectly but is designed without the protruding snib that most have. Early Miriam Haskell necklaces used clasps like this, but again I can't find any evidence to confirm if this is a Haskell piece.
The necklace has a length of about 16 inches and is in good vintage condition. I can see really tiny bits of enamel paint on the brass areas of the beads and belcher chain. So I think there may have been some hand-painted enamel decoration when it was first produced. I have shown a close-up of some slight marks to one of the beads - this is not dirt or damage, but is an inclusion within the glass and must have always been present.
