Vintage unsigned Attwood and Sawyer ( A&S ) large clear rhinestone and silver tone baroque style brooch

Large vintage known Attwood and Sawyer design rhinestone encrusted, silver tone and clear rhinestone brooch. Unusually, this piece is not signed - it would usually have A&S stamped on the reverse, so this is reflected in the price. This striking piece is an unusual example from these top quality makers. This one has many clear rhinestones across its surface, all of which are present and bright. The shape is stunning and the realistic curved ribbon edges are nicely formed.It has a lovely dangling teardrop shape at the bottom.

Founded in England in 1956 by Horace Attwood (Sawyer was a silent partner), Attwood & Sawyer produced copies of 18th- and 19th-century precious jewellery, many pieces for the Dallas and Dynasty TV series, and glittering diamante compositions for the Miss World competitions. I can just imagine Alexis Colby (Joan Collins) wearing this piece on Dynasty in the eighties. The brooch is in very good vintage condition.
