Vintage Sterling silver Art Deco bezel set sapphire blue crystal riviere necklace, open-backed princess cut (square) rhinestones, hallmarked, by W H Collins

Vintage sterling silver bright blue crystal riviere necklace - Art Deco or possibly earlier (Edwardian or 1920s). Lovely sized, princess cut (ie square shaped) sparkling sapphire blue crystal rhinestones, bezel set in lovely open-backed sterling silver raised settings, connected by sterling silver double links.

The necklace fastens with a spring ring clasp. The necklace is a very slim fitting choker length at about 15 inches, so please check neck measurements carefully. Please ask if you would like a length of extension chain to be added before shipping. The two settings on either side of the clasp are stamped - one with 'sterling silver' and the other with 'PAT 311897' as I usually see in this gorgeous type of choker. 

This patent was granted on 23rd May 1929 to a jeweller called Walter Henry Collins. The last picture shows the patent drawings and how the construction was achieved.
