Vintage Sterling silver Art Deco bezel set baby blue glass cabochon riviere necklace, open-backed large oval stones, hallmarked, by W H Collins

Vintage sterling silver luminous pale blue crystal cabochon riviere necklace - Art Deco or possibly earlier (Edwardian or 1920s). All around its length there are lovely sized and very unusual oval shaped blue glass cabochons, bezel set in lovely open-backed sterling silver raised settings, connected by sterling silver double links.

The necklace fastens with a secure spring ring clasp. It has a slim choker length of about 15 inches, so please check neck measurements carefully. Please message me and let me know if you would like a length of extension chain to be added before shipping. The two silver settings on either side of the clasp are stamped - one with 'the hallmark 'sterling silver', and the other with a patent stamp reading 'PAT 311897'. 

This patent was granted on 23rd May 1929 to a jeweller called Walter Henry Collins. The last picture shows the patent drawings and how the construction was achieved.
