Vintage Sphinx watermelon glass riviere necklace and clip on earrings set, heavy, bezel set, open-backed stones in pale gold tone

Fabulous vintage watermelon crystal riviere necklace and clip-on earrings set. A style used by the Sphinx jewellery company in the UK, unsigned here but clearly Sphinx pieces. These riviere necklaces catch the light beautifully and can be layered in the style of Vogue editor, Anna Wintour. This vitrail /watermelon colour is a very unusual and hard-to-find version.

This is a heavy set necklace with many large faceted glass stones, claw set in an open backed pale gold tone settings. It is lovely to have the matching earrings as well. The necklace length is adjustable using hook fastener and 2.5 inch extension chain, with a maximum of 17 inches. The earrings have strong clips. The set is in good vintage condition - you can see some tiny signs of wear behind the foiling through the rhinestones - see close-up picture 3 in particular for an idea.
