Vintage Sphinx amethyst purple / violet glass riviere necklace, heavy, bezel set, open-backed stones in ornate gold tone setting

Fabulous vintage amethyst purple crystal riviere necklace in a gorgeous pale violet / purple coloured glass. This is a style used by the Sphinx jewellery company in the UK, unsigned as usual but highly likely to be a Sphinx piece. This necklace has the transparent coloured stones as opposed to the banded agate style of glass. These transparent ones catch the light beautifully and can be layered in the style of Anna Wintour.

This is a heavy set piece with many large faceted glass stones, claw set in an open backed pale gold tone setting with pretty texture on the reverse. 

The necklace has a length of about 16 inches and fastens with a secure gold tone spring ring clasp. This design usually has a length of extension chain to allow for different lengths, but this one does not, so if you would like one please message me and I can create one. It is in very good vintage condition.
