Vintage snake necklace and bracelet set, clear rhinestone, black green enamel, unsigned Attwood and Sawyer A&S, fabulous quality 1980s style

Wonderful vintage snake necklace and bracelet set consisting of black enamel and clear rhinestone embellished 22 carat gold plated panels. In both pieces, the snake head and tail meet in the centre to form a Y / lariat style effect - each head has green enamel eyes.

This is a design produced by the Attwood and Sawyer (A&S) company, but these pieces are not signed - I have seen sets in which, for example, only the earrings are signed. You can feel the quality in these pieces, the gold plate feels thick and heavy, the enamel is smooth and perfect, the rhinestones are bright.

The necklace has a length of about 19 inches and the bracelet has a length of about 8 inches. Each piece has a hidden push-in box clasp within the end panels. The set is in very good vintage condition. It is sold in the hinged presentation box pictured.

Founded in England in 1956 by Horace Attwood (Sawyer was a silent partner), Attwood & Sawyer produced copies of 18th- and 19th-century precious jewellery, many pieces for the Dallas and Dynasty TV series, and glittering diamante compositions for the Miss World competitions.
