Wonderful vintage choker necklace bracelet and dangle earrings set consisting of blue glass cabochons with blue and clear rhinestone embellished shiny silver tone panels in an opulent design. The pieces are encrusted with crystal rhinestones and cabochons throughout, with the stunning sapphire blue rhinestones and oval cabochons as beautiful pops of colour.
The necklace and bracelet are signed Ciner on the reverse of each push-in clasp. The earrings are not signed but also have the instantly recognisable indented patterns of circles on the reverse that show they are unmistakably Ciner pieces.
The necklace has a slim choker length of about 15.5 inches, and fastens with a hidden box clasp. The bracelet has a slim fitting length of 7 inches and also fastens with a hidden push-in box clasp. The bracelet also has a length of safety chain for extra security, fastening with a spring ring clasp. The earring have simple ear hooks so do require ear piercings - each is about 1 inch long.
The pieces are in very good vintage condition - all rhinestones present and the silver tone nice and shiny. The photos do show an aged appearance to the rhinestones in some places and in some lights - a tinge of yellow. Older rhinestones can be replaced (message me if interested in this) but I do prefer to keep original condition wherever possible for such collectable pieces.
Emanuel Ciner started the company in 1892 as a fine jewellery company in New York. The events of Black Tuesday in 1929 and the subsequent depression caused so many changes for Americans. Among the countless ways American shoppers' tastes changed, the one that affected the jewellery business was the demand for fine jewels almost completely disappeared. Unusually, Ciner made the switch from fine jewellery to costume jewellery but they refused to give up their commitment to craftsmanship. The company has always designed, manufactured, and produced each piece by hand.
