Vintage signed Exquisite rose necklace, birthday flower series, pale gold tone, hand-painted enamel, month of June, excellent condition

Lovely example of the hard to find rose design necklace produced and signed by Exquisite of Solihull (WAP Watson company) in the 1950s. It is hand-painted in shades of pink, green and white cold enamel and is set in a light gold tone. It has the characteristic Exquisite hang tag / dangle in the shape of a bow.

The Exquisite maker produced a wide range of these pieces - whole sets of clip on earrings, brooches in two sizes, bracelets and necklaces - with different hand-painted flowers for each birthday month (see below for list of months and flowers). This one is for birthdays in the month of June - they are very collectable and each flower is hard to find in a necklace. They have become so collectable and scarce that prices have gone up drastically - I haven't been able to acquire one for several years.

It has an adjustable length with a maximum of abut 17 inches, fastening with a simple hook clasp and curb chain. The necklace is in excellent vintage condition - please examine photos carefully. It really seems as though it has never been used and is as fresh as it would have been when it was first purchased.
