Vintage signed Attwood and Sawyer A&S 22ct gold plated, blue, red and green enamel and rhinestone petite bird kingfisher brooch

Fabulous vintage gold plated Attwood and Sawyer (A&S) bird brooch. Lovely detailed bird design, decorated with rich blue, red and green enamel, clear paste rhinestones and a green rhinestone eye. It is signed / stamped A&S on its reverse and the pin fastens with a secure rollover clasp.. This is a design from this company that to me looks like a kingfisher, and is not a design I come across very often.

Founded in England in 1956 by Horace Attwood (Sawyer was a silent partner), Attwood & Sawyer produced copies of 18th- and 19th-century precious jewellery, many pieces for the Dallas and Dynasty TV series, and glittering diamante compositions for the Miss World competitions. It measures about 1.5 inches by 1.25 inches and is in very good vintage condition.
