Fantastic vintage Art Deco choker necklace set in yellow gold tone with characteristic curved panels set with clear rhinestones. This style of rhinestone setting - a sort of channel setting with claws - was used by Schreiber and Hiller as well as their other patented channel setting techniques. See the final picture for a 1953 advertisement (it's hard to see in the old picture, but the blue arrows point to pieces with the same technique).
The necklace has a really slim fitting choker length of about 15 inches and fastens with a secure, hidden push-in box clasp and safety catch for extra security. It really does sit snugly around the neck as a choker, so please check your neck measurement requirements carefully before ordering as mistakes cannot always be rectified later.
Made by Schreiber and Hiller in Germany, these pieces are beautifully and intricately engineered. The snake-like links follow the curves of the wrist and feel comfortable to wear. This piece is not signed which is often the case - other signatures or stamps include DRGM, Esha Randel, DoSo or Simex.
The necklace is in good vintage condition - good gold tone surfaces with only minor wear commensurate with age, and sparkly, bright rhinestones all in place.
