Vintage rootbeer Bakelite and chrome Art Deco machine age geometric hat / lapel pin brooch, classic 1930s design

Very unusual Art Deco 1930s machine age geometric pin with chrome and a large oval ring of rootbeer Bakelite in a lovely deep brown. The design is a little like a stylised beetle or bug. The plastic tests positive for Bakelite using simichrome paste - I have only just realised this! This stunning piece shows a wonderful geometric, streamlined style from the 1930s Art Deco period. The piece feels lovely when handled - high quality and smooth. It sticks in a hat, hair style or lapel with a simple stick pin. The pin is in very good vintage condition.
