Vintage Art Deco articulated chatelaine style brooch with beautiful detailing, embellished with suffragette colours violet, green and clear/white rhinestones. This may be coincidence or intentional if produced at a time when women wanted to show support to the universal suffrage movement. Some say the 'G' in green is 'give', the 'W' in white is 'women' and the 'V' in violet is 'votes'.

The brooch has gold tone filigree companents, very much in the style of Czech jewellery makers early in the 20th century in the Gablonz region. This includes the exceptional quality pieces produce by the Neiger brothers which are extremely collectable. I am not seeing quite the right techniques or components to suggest this is a Neiger brooch, but the quality is lovely nonetheless. The chatelaine style with the three dangling chains is quite unusual. The only similar ones I've seen have been labelled as Austro-Hungarian brooches - but I can't agree as they stone settings and components do not seem right at all. This one has two elephants and a central Buddha figure as its dangling charms.

This piece is fairly long with a length of 3 inches, and it is about 1.5 inches wide. It is in very good vintage condition with all the lovely rhinestones intact.
