Vintage Louis Rousselet Art Deco carved cream galalith & black glass large bead necklace, beehive clasp 'Made in France', foxtail chain

Fantastic Louis Rousselet Art Deco moulded galalith and jet black glass bead necklace. The smaller cream / ivory coloured galalith beads are beautifully shaped with a geometric floral design and tulip type shapes. There are two longer, hollow cylindrical carved beads, one on each side, that give a feeling of Chinoiserie.

The beads have been strung on a slim, machine age foxtail chain, as is characteristic of Rousselet necklaces. There is a bit of space to see the chain and to enable the wearer to run a cloth in between beads to keep it clean, but it is not too loosely strung. It fastens with the classic Rousselet large rounded beehive screw clasp in silver tone, which is stamped 'MADE IN FRANCE' (slightly worn) as shown in the photos.

This necklace has a length of about 17 inches and is in very good vintage condition. This is definitely one for the collectors and, as always, I will be sorry to see it go!
