Vintage Louis Rousselet Art Deco blue glass bead necklace, silver tone Made in France beehive clasp, strung on brass foxtail chain

Fantastic Louis Rousselet Art Deco glass chunky beaded necklace. This necklace has classic Rousselet features with recognisable Rousselet blue glass round beads, separated by classic blue Rousselet glass disc beads. The beads are strung on a slim, brass foxtail chain and the silver tone clasp is the classic Rousselet beehive screw clasp, stamped 'MADE IN FRANCE'.

These blue beads are absolutely stunning - they have some different swirl effects within the glass, with some just having a simple 'Peking' style glass effect, but in blue rather than green. The shades of blue are beautifully graduated with the lightest colours at the back near the clasp, gradually becoming darker towards the front, creating an ombre effect. I don't believe there is anything in the beads like uranium or cadmium that reacts strongly yo UV light, however I have shown the necklace under UV / black light in the last picture for people to judge for themselves. That lighting does show up some of the swirls within the glass in a different way.

The necklace has a length of about 18 inches and is in very good vintage condition.
