Vintage gold tone cicada brooch, signed Les Olivades, Egyptian revival

Gorgeous shiny yellow gold tone cicada brooch by French fabric printing company Les Olivades. This is beautifully made and used the same cicada mould as many other designers starting in the 1920s to 30s when Egyptian revival jewellery was popular after the discover of Tutenkhamun's tomb. The 1980s saw another revival of this style in jewellery, for example in pieces by Butler and Wilson.

The brooch measures 2 inches by just under 1 3/4 inches and fastens with a secure silver tone pin and and simple hook clasp. It is in very good vintage condition.
