Vintage early Askew London stiletto high heeled shoe statement clip on earrings in chic dark silver tone with clear rhinestones

Fabulous vintage and highly collectable Askew London statement clip-on dangle earrings in dark silver tone with clear rhinestones and beautifully detailed high heeled shoe drops. The shoes are gorgeous - heavy and of a lovely quality, with tiny bows embellished with small rhinestones and even rhinestones studding the back of each heel.

Many of the earlier Askew pieces are unsigned and were sold in the Askew boutique next to Selfridges just off Oxford Street in London. Some more recent pieces were only unsigned because they were originally part of a set in which other pieces were signed. This piece is not signed but the design, quality and components are unmistakable. The last two photos show other examples of Askew pieces using this shoe component - a pair of earrings for pierced ears and a fringe necklace.

All of Askew's pieces are unique - Sue Askew lives in London and cleverly incorporates original vintage and antique jewellery components to make her elaborate pieces. She finishes her pieces with top quality semi-precious stones and art glass pieces. She began designing and producing in 1979 I believe, so these earrings could actually originate from that time up to the present day. This is a stunning pair of statement earrings each with a drop length of 2 inches. They secure to the ear with strong clips and are in excellent vintage condition. I think they would make a lovely set with the glove fringe necklace also by Askew available in my shop.
