Vintage Attwood and Sawyer hummingbird brooch, gold plated, red and black enamel and rhinestone, signed A&S

Vintage hummingbird brooch by quality makers Attwood and Sawyer. Beautiful romantic design with thick gold plate, red and black enamel and clear rhinestones. The hummingbird is hovering and feeding from a beautiful rhinestone encrusted flower. A lovely example of the designs of these highly collectable brooches. This piece is signed A&S on the reverse of the flower as shown in pictures 7 and 8. It is in very good vintage condition with all rhinestones present and bright.

Founded in England in 1956 by Horace Attwood (Sawyer was a silent partner), Attwood & Sawyer produced copies of 18th- and 19th-century precious jewellery, many pieces for the Dallas and Dynasty TV series, and glittering diamante compositions for the Miss World competitions.
