Vintage Attwood and Sawyer A&S signed butterfly brooch, clear pave rhinestone encrusted, emerald green rhinestone and silver tone

Wonderful signed vintage, rhinestone embellished shiny silver tone ornate butterfly brooch by quality makers Attwood and Sawyer. The brooch is encrusted with clear rhinestones throughout, with an oval emerald green rhinestone in the centre. The small clear diamante are pave set on a silver tone (rhodium plated) background.

The brooch is signed A&S for Attwood and Sawyer on the reverse with ornate engraved effect across the back. This is one of two different butterfly design brooches produced by the company that I am familiar with.

The brooch measure 2 inches by about 1.5 inches and is in very good vintage condition.

Founded in England in 1956 by Horace Attwood (Sawyer was a silent partner), Attwood & Sawyer produced copies of 18th- and 19th-century precious jewellery, many pieces for the Dallas and Dynasty TV series, and glittering diamante compositions for the Miss World competitions.
