Beautiful Art Deco style streamlined machine age geometric Cleopatra collar necklace, matching bracelet and earrings set. This fabulous statement necklace is made from a shiny very pale gold tone chrome metal. It has five triangular sections along its length. There are marks on the reverse of the necklace and bracelet - see picture 5 for a close-up. It is script that says de Farre with a scroll squiggle underneath. The stunning streamlined curved pieces are an absolutely classic style from the 1930s and 1940s, Art Deco period. They feel beautiful when worn - weighty and smooth.

The necklace is around 16 inches in length along the shortest edge. The bracelet is 7.5 inches in length and very wide with lovely detailed tank track curves. They both fasten with secure and beautifully engineered pull-back hook clasps that are hidden in the links. The earrings are for pierced ears and have silver tone butterfly backs. The light gold tone of each piece is perhaps slightly different from piece to piece for some reason, with the earrings being the lightest gold and the necklace the deepest colour - but this is barely perceptible.

My research shows that many consider these pieces to be from the 1940s, 1950s or 1960s! In other words it seems that nobody knew. However I have now discovered that the de Farre untarnishable jewellery company was founded in England in 1952 and dissolved in September 1958 - so I now have a small and very definite window for the time these pieces were made. I have found other De Farre pieces in this Deco style, often bracelets, and they are all beautifully crafted, heavy and of an excellent quality. The final picture shows a de Farre paper tag from some other jewellery. I think they may be right that the jewellery is untarnishable! I have other de Farre pieces for sale, please search my shop. Very good vintage condition.
