Vintage Art Deco machine age shiny silver tone chrome and green glass bead heavy geometric statement necklace, threaded on chain
Beautiful, heavy necklace from the 1930s with a design using many characteristic component parts from the Art Deco period, including shiny 'cup' bead caps with organic crimped edges and large green glass beads with an overall architectural Deco style. The glass beads have a rich green colour with swirl glass effect - they are recognisable as beads used in Louis Rousselet pieces, but there are too many differences from Rousselet pieces for me to confirm this as one.
This piece is really striking - absolutely stunning. It is in very good vintage condition and is a particularly weighty, good quality piece. The beads are strung on double chains, which is unusual. The necklace has a length of about 16 inches and fastens with a screw barrel clasp.
