Vintage Art Deco machine age bow buckle clasp double strand silver tone thick chain necklace, pink and yellow early plastic / celluloid
Vintage Art Deco machine age bow buckle clasp double strand silver tone thick chain necklace, pink and yellow early plastic / celluloid
Vintage double stranded fancy rope twist chain necklace in silver tone with a fabulous moulded early plastic and silver tone bow buckle that operates as a clasp. The buckle has gorgeous moulded celluoid geometric pieces on either side in yellowy orange and pink. Also there are two princess cut (square) paste rhinestones on either side where the two halves join.
This piece is very versatile - I think two pieces have been combined and the buckle is fully removable. You could wear the simple double strand machine age necklace in the daytime, then attach the bow feature buckle to transition into a night time look! The buckle is attached to the ends of the necklace with two spring ring clasps, then is hooked together to fasten. My favourite look is with the buckle to one side as pictured (2nd picture), but it can be worn in front (last picture) or at the back as a clasp sitting on the nape of the neck (penultimate picture). It is in good vintage condition - you can see a slight darkening beneath the yellow piece on one side of the buckle, but it is still beautiful.
