Vintage Art Deco large teardrop glass faux carnelian and gold tone statement clip on earrings, stamped ges gescht
Vintage Art Deco large teardrop glass faux carnelian and gold tone statement clip on earrings, stamped ges gescht
Beautiful vintage large drop clip on earrings with the most beautiful orange stones, including drops of large teardrop shaped stones. I believe the stones are glass, but carefully crafted to resemble the semi precious stone carnelian / cornelian.
The earrings are large and absolutely stunning with the most beautiful banded swirls within the glass. They fasten with secure hinged clips. On the part of the clips that bends round, each is stamped 'GES GESCH' The term Ges. Gesch is an abbreviation for “Gesetzlich Geschutzt” and is the German equivalent of a trademark, copyright or patent. The translation of Gesetzlich Geschutzt literally means legally protected. So these earrings could be from Germany from the Art Deco period, or slightly later perhaps from occupied territories just before and at the start of WW11 such as Czechoslovakia.
The earrings are in very good vintage condition - beautiful glass work with no chips with just a tiny amount of glue visible in one earring where the clip is attached to the round stone.
