Vintage Art Deco French jet moulded glass panel riviere necklace, fabulous condition, lovely geometric design, 9ct gold clasp

Beautiful vintage moulded glass French jet riviere necklace from the Art Deco era. French jet jewellery was initially inspired by pieces of mourning jewellery, which was made popular during the Victorian period as it was Queen Victoria's only jewellery following the death of her beloved husband.

This necklace has beautiful geometric, moulded glass bead panels, individually hand-knotted and separated by faceted French jet glass spacer beads. There is a Victorian feel to this piece, but the geometric design particularly in the arrow shaped beads, points to an Art Deco piece from the 1920s or 30s. The necklace is in very good vintage condition.
