Vintage Art Deco DRGM channel set paste machine age stretch cocktail bracelet - signed 'Simex', a Schreiber & Hiller trademark
Wonderful vintage Art Deco cocktail bracelet set in silver tone with geometric tank track design and channel set rhinestones. This example is really unusual, as the links have been cleverly engineered so that the bracelet is expandable. The final picture shows the drawings from the patent application.
Made by Schreiber and Hiller in Germany, these pieces are beautifully and intricately engineered. The snake-like links follow the curves of the wrist and feel comfortable to wear. This piece is signed 'Simex' with the letters DBP which was a trademark used by the Schreiber & Hiller company from 1953. The trademark publication states that the mark is for Schmuckwaren, insbesondere Schmuckarmbänder (jewellery, especially jewellery bracelets).
The bracelet is in very good vintage condition - excellent chrome / silver tone surfaces and shiny, bright rhinestones. This piece is specifically mentioned in the very useful website on the subject here: https://www.trufauxjewels.com/jewelry-mystery-drgm-1138525-esha-randel/ This clarifies that the designs began in the 1930s Art Deco period, but were still being re-designed and produced in the 1950s as for this bracelet.
