Vintage Art Deco bright blue, huge crystal and silver tone statement ball chain necklace, machine age, very heavy, extraordinary piece!

Amazing vintage large statement necklace with huge bright blue crystal rhinestones set in silver tone. The metal actually feels like sterling silver, and the weight is consistent with this and it has clearly been polished with silver polish in the past as I had to clean some off when I acquired it. However there are no stamps or hallmarks and I have not acid tested it.

The necklace stands on its own as a piece of machine age type design. I wondered if it was an Art Deco piece from the 1930s, then found another similar piece (link below) that is certainly Art Deco. The large ball bearing style double chains are very reminiscent of the chrome machine age pieces of the 1930s.

The necklace has double ball chains around the back, fastening with a fabulous quality hidden box clasp, which is actually hinged to allow for it to sit perfectly around the curve of the neck. There are two enormous claw / prong set, trapezium shaped bright blue rhinestones on either side. The chains then become triple chains at the front and meet at the centrepiece with another enormous blue rhinestone, and a lovely crescent shaped silver piece underneath.

The necklace is about 16 inches long and is very heavy - 105 grams in total. This piece is really striking - absolutely stunning and the blue colour is unusually bright. It is in very good vintage condition. The similar bracelet mentioned above was sold here: www.etsy.com/uk/listing/889039115
