Vintage Whiting and Davis signed triple coil shiny gold tone mesh snake bangle, iconic design

Beautiful vintage Art Deco inspired machine age snake bangle in gold tone - an iconic piece by US makers Whiting and Davis. Lovely snake design with, appropriately, a flexible snake chain body in shiny silver tone. The snake head and tail are nicely formed with lovely textures.

This piece is signed Whiting and Davis on the back of the head, but the signature is hardly legible it is so smudged. It is an example of the harder to find triple coil version of this bangle in gold tone. As the company produced variations on this piece and were manufacturing from the 1890s onwards, it is hard to date with certainty, though pieces like this were popular in the 1970s and 80s.

The bracelet / bangle is flexible and so can be made wide enough to be slipped over or coiled around the wrist. It is in good vintage condition - the pictures including close-ups show the detail so please examine them carefully. It is an old piece, so there is minor wear and aging with tiny flecks of verdigris on the inner surfaces.
