Vintage 1920s Art Deco Egyptian revival fine sterling silver, black onyx and guilloche enamel bracelet miniature Egyptian scenes
Vintage 1920s Art Deco Egyptian revival fine sterling silver, black onyx and guilloche enamel bracelet miniature Egyptian scenes
Stunning vintage Art Deco, circa 1920s, sterling silver, onyx ring and fine guilloche enamel Egyptian revival panel bracelet. There is fabulous miniature guilloche enamel work on this Art Deco bracelet. The bracelet is made up of sterling silver plaques with machine age connecting silver loops and black onyx (or possibly glass) rings. Each enamel on silver plaque is very small, 10.6 by 7.5 mm, or 1/2 inch by 1/4 inch. The enamel background technique is guilloche, with engraving behind each white background. There are 6 mini plaques, all with different scenes and each miniature enamel painting has a different Ancient Egyptian subject. There are also champleve borders in two shades of blue.
The detail is so fine that it is fascinating to look at through a magnifying glass. The panels have light gilding on the reverse and the total length is 7.5 inches, fastening with a secure spring ring clasp. A previously sold bracelet like this, but with blue rings, had a stamp on the reverse of one panel confirming that the material is sterling silver (see link https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/766959262). This bracelet is not stamped, but tests positive as sterling silver. The bracelet is in excellent vintage condition - no scratches or wear to enamel, this bracelet has obviously been treasured and kept carefully.
