Huge vintage fierce tiger head brooch - red glass cabochon, rhinestone and enamel - in the style of Hattie Carnegie, Gucci, Butler & Wilson

Fabulous vintage tiger's head brooch in the style of the original version by Hattie Carnegie, that was produced in around the 1940s. The style has since been replicated by quality makers Butler and Wilson and, more recently, by the haute couture fashion house Gucci. The piece on offer here is unsigned but I always look out for this design - often the factory that produced them also sold them to other retailers to sell without signatures.

A fabulous quality heavy piece with thick gold tone, black enamel stripes, clear rhinestone stripes, a red glass cabochon eye and lovely gold work for the mane. In this example, I love the enamel painted onto the lips and teeth in red and white. The brooch is in very good vintage condition, with particularly shiny gold tone.
