Huge antique Victorian banded agate / banded onyx large bead, triple strand necklace, pretty marcasite clasp, very heavy

Fabulous vintage/antique banded agate (in fact banded onyx, but this is usually called agate in this style of jewellery) beaded necklace with three strands and large polished beads with lovely banded striations. The necklace is in very good vintage condition, with just a little looseness in the stringing.

The three strands are all roughly equal in length, which can make it tricky to sit nicely on the neck unless it fits perfectly as a choker. I am keen to list it in the original condition it arrived, but it may need adjusting depending on the size required by the wearer. However, these are very beautiful and valuable beads and it would be worth the re-sizing.

The necklace fastens with a secure rose / flower design push-in box clasp, decorated with pretty, glittering marcasite stones. The necklace has a length of about 16 inches around the neck and weighs a total of 248 grams.
