Huge antique silver (tested) filigree, four layer collar bib necklace, 97 grams

Fabulous antique unmarked silver filigree floral panel four layered collar necklace. The material has been tested and is silver but not hallmarked, as is often seen with many of these type of pieces of this age. The silver seems to be a slightly lower grade than standard 925 sterling.

A lot of the filigree work like this was created in Kosovo, which is the area at the heart of filigree production. However, it may have been sent to a variety of countries to be sold.

This is a heavy piece, weighing 97 grams overall. The necklace has a choker length, with the shortest edge around the neck having a length of about 16 inches. The necklace fastens with a simple hook clasp.

It is in good vintage condition, but with its age and highly delicate filigree, you can see from the photos that there are tiny losses within the curled wires in some of the pieces. All the linked panels are solid and secure despite this.
