Early 20th Century 1920s Art Deco paste riviere fringe collar clips / brooch necklace, silver tone closed cup settings, foiled paste stones
Beautiful early 20th Century, Art Deco sparkling paste riviere fringe necklace - or rather chain decoration linking two cardigan or cloak clips / brooches, one on each side. The necklace consists of linked individual panels each containing faceted clear paste stones claw set in an antique silver tone closed cup settings with a smooth closed mushroom back and then claw cage settings around that. At either end of the fringed chain, there is a geometric Art Deco style brooch encrusted with clear rhinestones.
In the necklace / chain, the stones are remarkably bright and sparkling - these old, foiled settings really allow the stones to stay bright. This is a beautiful and unusual necklace style double pin chain. The foiled paste stones along the whole length are just gorgeous - you simply don't see that quality of paste nowadays. The metal feels like sterling silver, but in fact does not test as silver. It has a length of about 14 inches and fastens at each end with a pin and safety pin style antique clasp. The necklace / cardigan clip chain is in very good vintage condition.
