Antique / vintage real cultured pearl triple strand necklace, hand-knotted, in box, pretty silver with emerald green & clear paste box clasp

Stunning triple stranded necklace of real cultured pearls, fastened with a beautiful sterling silver and paste rhinestone clasp. Each bead is individually hand-knotted and the quality is excellent.

The beads are all the same size (about 7mm in diameter) so the decorative clasp can be worn at the nape of the neck at the back, or used as a feature at the front or side. The hand-knotting of the thread between each pearl is a sign of quality and protects against losing pearls if an accident should happen. The clasp is secure but is also further protected with slim silver safety chains fastening with a spring ring clasp.

These pearls are old and cultured in sea water. They are not the freshwater pearls that are available quite cheaply from China and other Asian countries. The clasp is stamped with hallmarks on the reverse, but I have been unable to decipher them as yet. It is sterling silver and the beautiful clear and green jewels on the front are paste stones. The necklace is in very good vintage condition.
