Antique / vintage real cultured pearl triple strand choker necklace, hand-knotted in box, pretty silver, ruby & clear paste box clasp 64g

Stunning triple stranded choker necklace of real cultured pearls, fastened with a beautiful sterling silver and paste or possibly ruby and paste clasp. Each bead is individually hand-knotted and the quality is excellent. It is presented in its rather aged square jeweller's box as pictured.

The beads are gently graduated with the largest pearls to the front. The decorative clasp can be worn at the nape of the neck at the back, or used as a feature at the front or side. The hand-knotting of the thread between each pearl is a sign of quality and protects against losing pearls if an accident should happen.

Please note the slim-fitting choker length of just 14 inches and check neck measurements carefully. These pearls are old and cultured in sea water. They are not the freshwater pearls that are available quite cheaply from China and other Asian countries.

The clasp is stamped with 925 for sterling silver on the inner push-in section. I believe the stones are paste rhinestones, certainly the clear ones, though the pinky red larger stones could be rubies. The necklace is in good vintage condition for its age. As you can see in the close-up picture of the clasp, there is some discolouration to some of the tiniest clear stones around the edge - not visible from a distance, so please look carefully at the close-up picture. The necklace weighs 64 grams overall.
