Antique Victorian gold plated or rolled gold bookchain necklace with large oval bullseye agate pendant and bangle set

Fabulous antique Victorian yellow gold plated (or rolled gold / gold filled) book chain choker necklace and detachable bullseye/banded agate pendant, with lovely bangle with gorgeous, elaborate engraving. The book chain design emerged during the latter part of the Early Victorian Era, or Romantic Period (1837 to 1860) and was worn at that time with a large locket, cameo or pendant at the front.

The book chain necklace itself can be worn as a classic choker. The large oval agate pendant can be attached to this choker via the oversized spring ring clasp as pictured or of course as a pendant on any other chain. The pendant has beautiful stripes and striations in the agate in rich browns with black and white tones. The bangle has gorgeous engraving, like some of the links in the bookchain choker.

The necklace has a length of 17 inches and fastens with a classic antique, over-sized spring ring clasp. The pendant has a length of nearly 2 inches and a width just over 1 inch. The bangle has an internal diameter of about 2 1/4 inches and has a simple hook mechanism that can be slid into position. When unhooked, a panel is hinged and can open up for the bangle to slip over the wrist.
