Antique silver (tested) and blue gemstone (sodalite?) brooch, quite large, beautiful colour

Beautiful antique solid silver and blue gemstone brooch. The brooch is beautifully made with pretty foliate and floral style decoration around the silver frame which holds a large, oval, blue gemstone gently domed cabochon. I believe this cabochon is sodalite and the colours are stunning. The overall effect is, to me, a view of the clear night sky full of stars!

The brooch is not stamped but has been acid tested which confirms the frame is created in solid silver. It is about 2 1/4 inches long and 1.5 inches wide and fastens with an antique 'C' hook clasp and pin.

It is in very good vintage condition - the smooth face of the cabochon is not at all scratched, it has been kept carefully. I try not to over-polish vintage and antique jewellery to maintain its original condition for as long as possible, but this piece would clean and polish more for wearing if desired.
