Antique 'pools of light' longer length necklace with undrilled rock crystal orbs in silver tone wire cage settings

Absolutely stunning antique 'pools of light' rock crystal and silver tone wire necklace. These rock crystal orbs are undrilled so the pool of light effect is maximised. Each orb is set in a wire cage setting that encloses the orb securely. It is hard to photograph pieces like this to show its full glow and beauty!

When you place a crystal orb on top of something, instead of looking through it, the light going into the orb from its surroundings still experiences that same lens-based refractive effect and so the light that comes out is diffused but it is also somewhat focused. Thus, for an undrilled orb like those in this necklace, a “pool of light” appears on whatever surface is immediately adjacent to the orb. Any image behind an orb is rotated 180 degrees as it refracts through the crystal - so the text in picture 8 has been flipped upside down.

The necklace has a length of about 22 inches, and fastens with a secure spring ring clasp that is stamped 'STERLING' for 925 silver. The jump ring next to the clasp is stamped and I think it says 'Czechoslovakia'. Please send me a message if you have any questions or would like further photographs.

It is in good vintage condition, with some wear to the silver tone links and wire wrapping so glimpses of brass tone are showing through. It weighs 56 grams overall and is provided for sale in the vintage, black velvet hinged box shown in the pictures.
