Antique French jet bow brooch - Victorian Vauxhall glass, black ribbon design all in moulded / poured glass with faceted glass centre

Beautiful, delicate antique black Vauxhall glass French jet bow brooch from the Victorian era, with the most unusual all-glass moulded ribbon and central faceted glass cabochon. Victorian French jet jewellery was inspired by pieces of mourning jewellery, which were made popular during this period as it was Queen Victoria's only jewellery following the death of her beloved husband.

The brooch has a length and width of about 1 3/4inches and fastens with a European, most often French, trombone clasp and pin.

It is in very good vintage condition, especially considering its age and the fragility of the glass. This so very unusual and in such good condition that the price reflects what a rare piece this is.
