This type of glass is amazing as in the natural light, the princess cut (square) rhinestones are a pretty light luminescent yellow\/green colour. However under UV light, the glass gives off a 'radioactive' looking glow.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eUranium glass is glass which has had uranium, usually in oxide diuranate form, added to a glass mix before melting. The proportion usually varies from trace levels to about 2% uranium by weight.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis is a collector's piece as well as fun piece to be wearing in a club or party with UV lights. The necklace fastens with a simple hook clasp and has a maximum length of about 18 inches - which can be shortened by up to 2 inches if the clasp is attached a little higher up the opposing length of extension chain.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe necklace is in good vintage condition - please look at the photos carefully. There is definitely a square rhinestone that has been replaced right next to the hook clasp - easy to tell as the colour match is not quit right and it is not uranium glass.
