I have seen this design with just silver filigree beads and I have also seen and have listed it with different green or blue beads in between the chrome links - sometimes galalith and sometimes glass beads. This is the first time I have seen it with uranium glass (UV light sensitive) beads, which is lovely.

This design is very chic in its simplicity. It has beautiful chased / engraved machine age geometric links with beautiful green beads which glow vivdly under UV / black light as pictured. It has a length of about 16 inches and fastens with a secure spring ring clasp.

The necklace is in good vintage condition - the only fault I can find it that the silver tone chrome has worn off the slim chain around the neck section - the section that rubs against the neck. People's perfume or skin creams can cause this over the years - now we can see the gold tone brass underneath with a warn antiqued glow. However, the chrome on the links in the front section is still very good.

Jakob Bengel was a chain and costume jewellery factory, founded by Jakob Bengel in 1873 in Idar-Oberstein, Germany.

Until 1920, the company specialised in the production of watch chains and chatelaines (pendants for pocket watches). In the 1920s and 1930s, it became one of the leading manufacturers of fashion jewellery in the Art Deco style.

It was during the Bauhaus and Art Deco period that designers were looking to obtain new materials and inspiration to produce costume jewellery. Inspired by French Avant-Garde and other fashion trendsetters such as Coco Chanel, Bengel started to produce experimental jewellery. The pieces, catalogued 1924-1939, combined brass and chrome with geometric shapes of coloured galalith.

https://alicelily.co.uk/products/vintage-art-deco-machine-age-green-uranium-glass-bead-chrome-and-filigree-necklace-jakob-bengel
