The brooch is beautifully made with pretty foliate and floral style decoration around the silver frame which holds a large, oval, blue gemstone gently domed cabochon. I believe this cabochon is sodalite and the colours are stunning. The overall effect is, to me, a view of the clear night sky full of stars!\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe brooch is not stamped but has been acid tested which confirms the frame is created in solid silver. It is about 2 1\/4 inches long and 1.5 inches wide and fastens with an antique 'C' hook clasp and pin.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt is in very good vintage condition - the smooth face of the cabochon is not at all scratched, it has been kept carefully.
