The jump ring next to the clasp has the word 'garantie' stamped on it, which is often found in Bengel pieces. I think they were adding a flavour of France to attract customers! A beautifully designed machine age Bauhaus style necklace which originates from the 1930s. It has features that are seen in Jakob Bengel's Art Deco jewellery, but I cannot find another exactly like it and do not have absolute provenance for this. However the last picture shows a Bengel book piece using the same interlinked chain style.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eI particularly love the the looped metal work and the intricacy of how it fits together but hangs always perfectly. This would be classic work for a producer like the Bengel factory during that period, often producing pieces featuring wood and glass alongside the well know galalith pieces produced.
